Audition requirements can vary depending on the production. Some may ask for a prepared monologue, while others may involve cold readings from the script. Specific audition details will be provided in the audition announcement, so make sure to check the requirements for the show you’re interested in.
-
You can sign up for an audition for a specific show. Generally speaking, we accept digital or in-person auditions. We will do our best to accomodate schedules. While we accept walk-ins, it's recommended to register ahead of time.
We also are happy to accept auditions outside of the audition period. We are always adding new shows and it would be great to have your information on file!
-
If you aren’t cast in a specific role, there are still many ways to get involved! We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with backstage work, set design, costumes, and other areas. Plus, auditioning is a great way to get to know our theater and directors for future productions.
-
We are a small community theatre, and unfortunately we are not able to pay actors what some of the larger theatre's are able to pay.
However, we do collect cash at the front of the theatre during the performance, which is then split amongst the cast.
-
Cloverdale Performing Arts Center is a safe space. A lot of us involved have worked with other theatre companies and have noticed that there is a shockingly bad treatment of fellow artists often. We strive to keep the theatre a safe space for everyone. We will not tolerate ego trips from actors, directors, or anyone else involved.
Auditions
We’re currently gearing up for our 2025 Season Auditions. We will not be holding general auditions this year, but will instead be holding auditions specific to each show. 1984 has been fully cast.

Saturday, September 27 at noon
Auditions will be held at Cloverdale Performing Arts Center on the main stage. Auditions are September 27th at noon. Please do not prepare a monologue unless you’re submitting a video audition. PLOT:
Leading Ladies focuses on two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who find their careers in a rut. They are currently performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit. When they hear that an old lady is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, however the actors resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. Hilarity ensues when it turns out the relatives are actually nieces and not nephews. Things get even more complicated when Leo falls madly in love with the old lady’s vivacious niece, Meg, who’s engaged to the local minister.
Available Roles:
CHARACTERS (3 F) (5 M) (ALL ROLES ARE OPEN)
Jack & Leo are English. Actors playing Jack and Leo must be comfortable wearing women’s clothes!
FEMALE CHARACTERS
Meg Snider: She’s vivacious, with enormous warmth and a great sense of humor. She also has the fresh, unstudied beauty that most women would kill for.
Audrey: She is extremely sweet and good-natured. The typical “girl-next-door;” cute but approachable.
Florence: (Elderly) Very old, extremely crusty, and her eyesight is terrible. Always on the verge of death’s door, but keeping him at bay.
MALE CHARACTERS
Leo Clark: (Accent: Standard British) Typical Leading man type; tall, good looking, easy with a smile (and the ladies!) Shakespearian trained, but working the Moose Lodge circuit to make ends meet.
Jack Gable: (Accent: Standard British) Jack is Leo’s best friend and partner. They’ve been working the Moose Lodge circuit for so long, he’s ready to pack it in and settle down.
Duncan Wooley: Local minister and substantially older than Meg (they are engaged). He’s a good man at heart, but rather fussy, set in his ways, a bit scatterbrained and lives in his own world.
Doc Myers: Doc is a crusty, likeable curmudgeon; a country doctor who takes no gruff from anybody.
Butch Myers: Butch is a little slow on the uptake, but earnest and sincere, with a good heart. He played football in high school – pretty much his claim to fame. (Son of Doc, in love with Audrey).
Rehearsals: TBD
