An original play by Healdsburg resident Gabriel Fraire, the story revolves around a Mexican-American family hiding secrets from each other. At heart, this is a play about family and the many contradictory emotions that bind us together by blood. When the patriarch of a Latino family dies on the same day beloved activist Cesar Chavez passed away, the intertwined layers of secrets, dreams, resentments, and hopes bubble to the surface for each member of the remaining family – the wife, two sons, and daughter. While the children squabble and vent, the mother seeks solace and guidance from a mysterious spirit (seen only by her) that provides a uniquely down-to-earth approach to their situation and their challenges. A co-production with Raven Performing Arts Theater.
